Meriting Youth Development celebrated the graduation of Group 3 on June 14, 2015. The ceremony marked the successful completion of our intensive two-month job readiness programme by another cohort of dedicated young people.

The event was held at our training center in Braamfontein and was attended by graduates, their families, staff members, and representatives from our partner organizations. The atmosphere was filled with pride, joy, and anticipation for the future.

A Day of Celebration

The ceremony began with a welcome address from our Programme Coordinator, who highlighted the achievements of the graduates and the impact of the programme on their lives. This was followed by testimonials from graduates who shared their personal journeys and how the programme had transformed their outlook and opportunities.

"When I joined this programme, I had lost hope of ever finding meaningful employment. Today, I have not only gained valuable skills but also the confidence to pursue my dreams. I have already received two job offers!"

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates to the graduates. Each graduate received their certificate amidst applause and cheers from the audience. Special awards were also given to outstanding performers in various categories including leadership, most improved, and academic excellence.

Group 3 consisted of 35 graduates who successfully completed the programme, which covers computer literacy, business administration, communication skills, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette. The programme is designed to equip unemployed youth with the skills needed to secure employment and build successful careers.

We are proud to announce that 80% of Group 3 graduates have already secured employment or are pursuing further education. This success rate is a testament to the effectiveness of our programme and the dedication of our trainers and support staff.

The ceremony concluded with a networking session where graduates had the opportunity to connect with potential employers and explore job opportunities. It was a fitting end to a transformative journey and the beginning of new chapters in the lives of these young people.
